Conference History

Recognizing the need to understand the impact of endogenous DNA damage, the 1st US-EU DNA Repair Meeting: Endogenous Stress, was organized by Vilhelm Bohr, Erling Seeberg, Arthur P. Grollman and Samuel H. Wilson in 2003 at the National Conference Center near Washington, DC. The participants enthusiastically endorsed a second meeting to take place in an EU country, and the conferences continued alternating between the EU and the US, with the most recent meeting taking place in Udine, Italy, in September 2017.

The 7th US•EU Meeting on Endogenous DNA Damage and Repair continues this tradition.  To explore the sources of endogenous DNA damage and the many cellular mechanisms that cope with it, the scientific program includes an international group of outstanding invited speakers.  The schedule will encourage informal interactions, which we hope to foment new collaborations and new avenues of investigation.  Another significant goal of the conference is to provide opportunities for early-stage scientists to network with experienced investigators, which will be enhanced by poster sessions and talks selected from the submitted abstracts.
